My Journey
Since I was young, drawing has been my passion, influenced by comics. During my youth, while studying, I started painting t-shirts for music groups, as well as patches and back patches for jackets, looking to earn some money.
My interest in music led me to play the drums in several rock and metal bands, and I enjoyed designing posters and logos for the bands.
I entered the School of Fine Arts, where I worked in Carlos Seveso'sworkshop, who advised me to complement painting with the graphic arts workshop.I interned as a designer and illustrator at various advertising agencies and collaborated with underground magazines like "Kamuflaje" and "Thrash".
After a few unrelated jobs, in 1991 I decided to take a sabbatical year to travel through Chile and Peru. Upon returning to Uruguay, I landed my first job as a layout artist for the sports supplement of "El Diario", a national newspaper. Later, I worked as a layout artist at "La Juventud", and together with two friends from design school, we founded a small agency called "Estudio 3".
In 1996, I moved to Spain. After some temporary jobs, I began working as a designer at "Bauer Ediciones", where I spent four years and culminated my time there as the design coordinator for the magazine "Plus" .
After leaving the magazine, I worked as a freelancer for various advertising agencies, taking on roles as a final artist, designer, illustrator, and in photo retouching.
My professional journey led me to "Patric Sport", a clothing and sports footwear company, where I worked as an illustrator and product designer for the brands "ROX, RX", and Roc Neige. Later, I returned to freelancing, collaborating with clients like "AVON Cosmetics Spain" in various departments, from creative to production. For two years, I created e-learning courses for "AVON Italy" and developed websites for various clients, after taking several web development courses.
Eventually, I spent two years in the creative department of "AVON" and three years in the production department. Upon completing this stage, I decided to focus on personal projects that I had been postponing, such as studying programming and web application development, as well as a series of graphic stories based on tales I had been writing. After that experience, I worked as a frontend developer for a while, but ultimately decided to pursue my path as a freelancer, seeking new opportunities and projects that inspire me.
